This is fascinating. So much detail still remaining. I can see the work that would have gone into finding this out. What a tragic life. The first part is steeped in tragedy. I think she sounds like a real character. I'm so pleased she can still be remembered now. People were not so understanding in those days. Not sure we are now tbh. Really enjoyed it.

I just want to say how much I enjoy your channel. It is fascinating to read about these people's lives but also heartbreaking to see how they were forced to live. The violence, alcoholism etc is shocking to today's people. Even at our worst things aren't as bad as they were then. May all these poor people rest in peace and know that their descendants appreciate their struggles. Also thanks again for these really interesting video.

There were probably others like her, preferred prison to being out, all very sad but what do you do with someone who defiantly decides to break the law that she has already been imprisoned for, yet again. Well researched case, thank you for this.

Fascinating. I’m 62 from Birmingham; my dad was the youngest of seven, raised in back-to-backs on Wheeler Street, Aston/Gosta Green, where seven or eight families shared basic toilets and washrooms. In the early 1930s they moved to a newly built three-bed in Yardley on former farmland—I lived there until recently. Many of the streets in the reports are familiar. Thank you.
